Tony Stark’s daughter in Endgame is being bullied and Avengers: Assemble!

It turns out Lexi Rabe, who plays a young Morgan Stark in Avengers: Endgame, has been the recipient of bullying and this is why we can’t have nice things.

The seven-year-old has issued a plea to her followers and fans of the Marvel franchise to give her a little slack, seeing as, after all, she’s a child.

While no specific instances were mentioned in the video posted to Instagram, her mother Jessica shared a message that implored people to understand it’s not her fault if she sometimes can’t stop for autographs or pictures with fans.

In the video, Lexi said to the camera: ‘I mess up sometimes, so my mum and dad give me tonnes of talking tos and time outs. Believe me.

‘If I go anywhere and acting a little silly or messed up or anything like that, im just seven years old.

‘Please don’t bully my family. Or me.

‘Bye, love you 3000.’

It appeared this wasn’t the first time the young star has been targeted, as her mother said ‘yet again Lexi’s getting bullied’.

Going some way to explain the situation, Jessica wrote: ‘And this kind of thing makes it celebrities never want to leave the house never want to meet people.

‘Please keep your opinions to yourself so Lexi can grow up in the free world. She’s a normal human being and she’s a child.

‘Sometimes were rushing from place to place stressed like everyone else to get to set on time or work or whatever and we seem a little grumpy. I’m sorry if you see us this way but that’s life! If you ask us for an autograph we always almost say yes. If we happen to be having a bad day that might put us right on the right! We are not perfect!

‘These perfect children are not being given the freedoms and the rights that they should. If your child is so scared to be themselves in public and mess up a little then you’re over parenting. We give our children plenty of rules and boundaries But then give them the freedoms to mess up and learn from their own mistakes.

‘They would not be on set an on movies if they weren’t well behaved. Trust me they have no desire to hire kids like that! And there were plenty of children that productions can work with.’

She continued: ‘So if you see us in public and think you have the right to judge. Wait. Number one until you have children of your own, and Number two realise that we’re not perfect and we’re not claiming to be! [sic]’

Fans immediately jumped to Lexi’s defence, as they encouraged the Avengers to assemble to avenge the girl’s right to be a seven-year-old.

‘Lexi sweet girl this entire fandom will protect you,’ one fan wrote. ‘We’re the real life Avengers. Stay strong little one. Don’t listen to any of the negativity.’

Among shouts of ‘love you 3000’ another added: ‘Bruh who ever is bullying a tony stark’s daughter their facing all of us [sic].’

**Warning: spoilers for Avengers: Endgame ahead**

If you’re not emotional already about the death of Tony Stark, this will most definitely do it.

The home release for Avengers: Endgame will be packed full of extra goodies to entice you to pick up the DVD or Blu-ray – as if you’ll need convincing – to rewatch the goodbyes of Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America.

And one particularly heartwrenching featurette goes back to the very start of the MCU to see Robert Downey Jr introduced as Iron Man.

In a clip from the featurette, we see director Jon Favreau explaining how keen he was for RDJ to be Tony Stark in 2008’s Iron Man – the first film of the MCU.

He says: ‘Robert had a whole career of great work behind him, and he was at a point in his life and his career where he was ready to break out and do something really big and exciting.’

However, casting director Sarah Halley Finn explains that not everyone was on board, saying: ‘Jon was in love with the idea of Downey playing the part, and we all felt so sure about him on a creative level. Because he wasn’t instantly a slam dunk approval, I suggested we have screen tests.

‘I remember walking in with Robert Downey Jr on the day of the tests. He was laughing and in great spirits and completely at ease, and he got in front of the camera and started saying the lines…’

After showing a snippet of his screentest, Downey Jr says: ‘I don’t want to call it an out of body experience, but it was one of those rushes that I’m sure somebody would feel if they’re about to play a big sporting arena. Am I gonna pass out ot am I gonna nail this?’

Producer Louis D’Esposito says: ‘On that day that Robert screentested, it was clear that there was noone else who could play that part’, with Finn adding: ‘It was magic. It was exactly the feeling as a casting director, with Kevin, with Jon, with everyone – we all wanted to have that feeling, like we have it. This is it. This is our guy.’

Don’t mind us, we’re just in tears over here.

Disney weren’t so keen on the casting of Downey Jr due to his much publicised issues – he was arrested on numerous occasions between 1996 and 2001 for drug charges, including cocaine and heroin possession and missing drug tests.

However, Downey Jr has been drug-free since 2003, and his troubled past was why Favreau wanted him for the part.

He previously told USA Today: ‘We didn’t want to just go with a safe choice. The best and worst moments of Robert’s life have been in the public eye. He had to find an inner balance to overcome obstacles that went far beyond his career. That’s Tony Stark.

‘Robert brings a depth that goes beyond a comic book character having trouble in high school, or can’t get the girl.’

Avengers: Endgame gag reel lands as Chris Pratt urges co-stars to ‘warm up your butt cheeks’

The Avengers: Endgame cast have fans cracking up with the newly released gag reel, as Chris Pratt urges his co-stars to ‘warm up your butt cheeks’.

Can’t fault that advice.

Marvel’s new blooper reel from the movie, which recently became the highest grossing film of all time as it overtook James Cameron’s Avatar, proves the Avengers definitely can’t be slick all of the time, as it documents falls, forgotten lines, and a lot of laughter.

Following on from the iconic Infinity War gag reel, it kicks off with Chris (Peter Quill) giving expert advice on not pulling a hamstring, before showing Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man) fully breaking the Tesseract. As you do.

‘I can’t believe I made a full movie with this thing on,’ Chris Evans marvels at one point about his Captain America mask.

Meanwhile, Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) ponders: ‘Does this look cool? It doesn’t feel cool’ while suspended mid-air.

Sure it does, Brie. Sure it does.

Robert went on to swear up a storm when he encountered some car issues, before Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) summed everything up by declaring: ‘See what I have to deal with here? Ten years of this s***.’

The best 10 years ever though, right Scarlett?

And, despite the movie’s mammoth run-time of three hours and two minutes, the bosses and writers over at Marvel haven’t been skimping on the details of the deleted scenes – one of which involved Thanos and an ‘LSD trip’.

Seriously.

Avengers: Endgame's Paul Rudd
Oh, Paul (Picture: Marvel Studios)

Writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely admitted they’d dreamed up a scene where Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) sent Thanos (Josh Brolin) through the mindscape, where he was faced with his endless crimes.

Poor old Thanos (such a pussycat, that guy) would have ‘bodies being thrown at him,’ before ending in front of the Living Tribunal. You know, that absolute looker with the four faces who rotates and passes judgement?

Christopher and Stephen explained at San Diego Comic Con that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige didn’t want to lose the ‘psychedelic aspect of the Starlinverse where people travel inside their own eyeballs and things like that’.

Avengers: Endgame's Chris evans

‘The idea was that [Thanos] was zipping through the universe being presented with his many, many, many crimes. Bodies are being thrown at him, he lands and things turn into bodies, hands are grasping at him.’

Ew. But also wow. Stephen went on: ‘At the end, he gets dumped in front of the Living Tribunal who judges him guilty. It was great.’

But the writers admitted they thought it was a little bit too out there for viewers.

‘When you introduce the idea of the Living Tribunal, it does open up a whole new… I don’t know that my grandmother would understand,’ Stephen confessed.

Markus added: ‘We’re also in the middle of a very highly-paced fight so to stop it to have an LSD trip was fun, but kinda sucked the air out of the punching.’

Yeah, it tends to do that.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has revealed Robert Downey Jr filmed his final scene as Iron Man for Avengers: Endgame in the small studio next door to where he auditioned for the 2008 original film that kicked off the MCU franchise.

Our hearts!

Speaking to Empire magazine’s Chris Hewitt at a special Endgame podcast in London on Thursday night the producer detailed what it was like filming Robert’s final scene.

At the end of Endgame he uses the Infinity Gauntlet to Snap Thanos to oblivion. In turn, of course, he killed himself – but not before uttering the brilliant words: ‘I am Iron Man.’

‘There were multiple days that were like “this is it, this is the last time. Oh no we have to do it again”,’ Kevin told an audience listening to the live podcast of the final shooting day with RDJ.

‘”Here it is, the final one”, I’d fly to Atlanta to be there, “we have to do it again”.’

He continued of the various versions of that ultimate scene: ‘The idea came up very late in post, he used to say nothing, he used to say the f-word in one version that was screened but none of it was feeling the way we wanted to feel.

‘I think it was our editor Jeff Ford who had the idea “I am Iron Man”. Robert was a little hesitant, every time he had cathartic emotions going through it.

‘He did it and I don’t think we’ve talked about this – that was shot right across from the Paramount studios in a stage right next door to the stage where he did his audition for Iron Man I.

‘It’s the first time we’d been on that lot since.

‘I thought, how amazing that the stars have aligned, coincidentally, that his very last shot as Iron Man would be done in this place where he performed Tony Stark in his audition. How all of our lives changed.’

On the soon-to-be-released DVD version of the film we see Iron Man director Jon Favreau explaining how keen he was for RDJ to be Tony Stark in 2008’s Iron Man – the first film of the MCU.

He says: ‘Robert had a whole career of great work behind him, and he was at a point in his life and his career where he was ready to break out and do something really big and exciting.’

Did Tony Stark have the time travel brainwave after looking at a photo of him with Peter Parker?

Even though it’s been months since Avengers: Endgame was released, we can’t help ourselves in trying to come up with keen theories and one Marvel fan has created this beauty.

After watching Endgame for probably the umpteenth time, Reddit user discr33t_enough had their own brain wave during the kitchen scene when Tony (AKA Iron Man AKA Robert Downey Jr) looked at a shot of himself with Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and then created what was needed for the Avengers to head into the Quantum Realm.

If you’ll cast your mind back, Tony looked at the image while washing up before heading back to the den to keep working on the formula.

‘I’ve got a mild inspiration,’ he told his work station, before adding: ‘So I’d like to run one last sim.

‘This time, in the shape of the Mobius strip, inverted, please.’

Tony only cracks the time travel model after seeing a picture of him and Peter holding an "inverted" diploma. from marvelstudios

Inverted.

Discr33t_enough wrote last week alongside their own discovery: ‘Tony only cracks the time travel model after seeing a picture of him and Peter holding an “inverted” diploma.’

Woah.

As you’d remember, by inverting the strip he was able to create the manner in which the gang travelled back in time to collect the Infinity Stones before Thanos, thus undoing the Snap.

Before, you know, having to do it again to dust the man away – which came with some pretty heart-breaking consequences as we lost Tony.

Fans were pretty on board this idea of the upside-down diploma, as they praised the Reddit user for the ‘nice catch’.

‘What the hell runs through the [directors Anthony and Joe] Russos minds to come up with these kind of details?’ another fan chimed in. ‘That’s insane!’

Another labelled the whole thing a theory from ‘captain obvious’ but we’re scratching their heads as to why they didn’t post it online, eh?

Alright, sure, it might be something a few people are only realising now, but let the fan have their grand moment.

When one challenged the idea Tony simply came up with the formula in one night, as proffered by the film, the theorist responded: ‘Tony definitely has probably tried a million other models before this to get to the solution. That’s why he’s so shocked when it’s successful.

‘Just because that entire process isn’t shown doesn’t mean it never happened.’

Yeah.

We’re not ready to let go of these two (Picture: Rex Features)

Marvel bosses have applauded Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans’ final turn as Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, with a heart-warming look behind the scenes.

Both characters received a hefty farewell in the bonus features for the DVD release of the Marvel Studios film, with bosses explaining casting Robert in the role of Tony/Iron Man was a ‘risky’ move seeing as the actor wasn’t a ‘family-friendly’ name for their comics hero.

Casting directors and producers spoke of how while they were hesitant in giving the role to the reformed ‘bad boy’, Iron Man director Jon Favreau wasn’t giving up.

Insisting Robert was the only man who could do it, Sarah Finn, the casting director for the 2008 film, explained they ‘kept coming back to’ the actor.

As Iron Man took his final bow in Endgame, after Snapping away Thanos before dying in front of his pals, the bonus clip was a fitting memory for the iconic character.

And we’re 100% in tears over here.

Aside from the behind-the-scenes interviews and tributes, one deleted scene on the DVD shows the Avengers kneeling for a dead Iron Man. Three, two, one, and we’re crying. On your left.

One explained in the revisit to the earlier works in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: ‘If we didn’t cast [Robert] that was the biggest risk.’

Showing his original screen tests as the character, Robert blew everyone away with a Marvel Studios honcho saying: ‘It was clear no one else could play it.’

Even Robert himself backed his prowess, telling behind the scenes cameras: ‘I was certain it would work, the rest his history.’

When it comes to Chris, who played an important role alongside Tony in the fight for good over the years, Cap was referenced as the ‘backbone’ of the universe.

His Avengers co-stars heaped praise on Chris’ turn as one of the OG Avengers with Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) saying she ‘cannot imagine anyone else’ in the role while Robert mused over the years Chris was turning ‘more and more into Cap’.

Because he’s a saint, that’s why.

Chris reflected on his own story as Cap, noting the audience had to fall in love with ‘skinny Steve’, before he’s served the super soldier serum and comes out all flexing muscles and ‘America’s a**’ to win all the wars.

He added of his turn: ‘I’ve had such good fortune.’

Ah God, pass the tissues.

Avengers: Endgame is on DVD now and blu-ray™ from 2 September.

Robert Downey Jr. was being hailed as a legend at the D23 Expo this week, and in true RDJ style he confessed to getting arrested on his first trip to Disneyland.

The Avengers: Endgame actor – who has been sober since 2003 – admitted he was apprehended by police for smoking marijuana ‘in a gondola’ during a visit to the theme park when he was younger.
The 54-year-old star made his candid admission when he was named a Disney Legend at the D23 Expo as he said: Here’s a bit of trivia for you. The very first time I went to Disneyland I was transported to another place. Within moments of being arrested, I was brought to a surprisingly friendly processing centre, given a strict warning, and returned to, if memory serves one very disappointed group chaperone. I’ve been sitting on that shame for a while and I’m just going to release it here tonight.

‘I would like to make amends to whoever had to detain me for smoking pot in a gondola without a license. And I don’t wanna further confuse the issue by insinuating that pot smoking licenses for the gondola are in any way obtainable.’

Robert – whose Disney debut came in 2006’s The Shaggy Dog – thanked the people he’d worked with over the years and admitted playing Iron Man/Tony Stark in the MCU franchise had been a ‘great gift’.

He said: ‘I’m delighted to be among such a rich and diverse group of humans, all seeking to reflect the many challenges of life through the lens of creative expression.

‘For my part, playing Tony over many years, the thematic idea that technology can guide our species towards enlightenment or destruction, it’s been a really worthwhile and ongoing meditation. Honestly, it’s been a great gift.’

And while his alter ego may have been killed off in Avengers: Endgame, the actor will still be taking an interest.

He added: ‘I get to remain a fan… Here’s to the future.’

Robert Downey Jr on retiring from MCU: ‘There’s something very sobering about it’

Robert Downey Jr has opened up on leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe, admitting it was the right time for him to hang up his Iron Man suit.

The actor, who bowed out of Avengers: Endgame earlier this year after effectively saving the world, spoke of making his big exit alongside Chris Evans’ Captain America.

To Robert, it was time.

‘We had to get off. We opted to, and knew it was part of the job to get off the bus while it rolled on to other destinations,’ he explained to Disney’s twenty-three magazine, according to Digital Spy.

‘There’s something very sobering about it. I’m glad he and I will be there to welcome others as they retire their jerseys.’

Tony Stark’s final bow, which saw him Snap away Thanos and his army, bringing an end to the Infinity Saga that wiped half the population in the previous film Infinity War, was a tough pill for many fans to swallow.

With him many believe Robert left a brilliant legacy in the MCU.

But he’s hardly the man that’s going to agree.

‘I really don’t need to look any farther than my co-stars. Mark Ruffalo is an activist, Chris Evans is a diehard American and proponent of true democracy,’ Robert continued.

‘I don’t really have the gumption, the skill set, the drive, or the humility either of those guys do.’

Dude, you saved the world in Endgame! Be a little easier on yourself, okay?

Robert got chummy with Mickey Mouse at the recent D23 summit, which saw the next slate of Disney’s projects explained in further detail.

While at the star-studded event he was hailed a legend after confessing to getting arrested on his first trip to Disneyland.

The actor – who has been sober since 2003 – admitted he was apprehended by police for smoking marijuana ‘in a gondola’ during a visit to the theme park when he was younger.

Tony Stark’s return has long been theorised, as sources claim Disney+ comeback

Tony Stark is apparently making his return (Picture: Marvel)

Ever since it was hinted earlier today Iron Man could make a comeback for a Marvel series on Disney+ we’ve been wondering just how, after he died in Avengers: Endgame.

Dead. Caput. Stark out.

Were our tears all for nothing?

The upcoming launch of new streaming service Disney+ will allow for more Marvel stories to be told, and it has been reported that Robert will return as Tony once more in a voiceover capacity for rumoured new series Ironheart.

Ironheart follows Riri Williams, the teenage genius who continues Tony’s legacy in the comics, and according to We Got This Covered their source alleges that the company has got Downey Jr on board to voice Tony who will appear as an AI – similar to Paul Bettany’s J.A.R.V.I.S – and will help her train to become a superhero.

There are many overlaps here, including the fact in 2008 Tony built his first suit in a cave, and Riri built hers in the garage.

Fans are definitely not arguing with the idea, as they supported it as the news filtered through. It’s not the first time people have prophesied Tony’s time in the MCU (or Disney equivalent) would be done for good. And AI has been at the top of the list for many.

When Tony died in Endgame, Looper came up with many a way the character could return to the MCU – one of which being as AI to aid in Riri.

All very convenient, isn’t it?

‘A holographic Tony serving as the onboard AI for a character like Riri or Morgan [Stark] would be a nice way to bridge the gap to a new Iron Man, or he could even control an empty suit of armor himself,’ they previously prophesied.

Fans have long been theorising on how we will still get our fix of Iron Man, including Spider-Man Tom Holland inheriting Stark’s business and suit.

And Stark becoming his AI.

There’s a lot of theories about Tony Stark and AI, and Reddit went off at the idea several months ago.

See, this source news is not the first time people have been theorising Tony and AI together – albeit this is the strongest sign it might actually happen.

‘That way his character can continue to evolve and he wouldn’t necessarily be a major part of the MCU going forward, but he would still always be there,’ Reddit user CaptainSpaceWolf13 wrote.

‘Most recently in the comics Tony has “died” and uploaded his consciousness into an AI. This way he can still be a part of his world and can still help his friends, while technically being gone.

‘If Tony were to die in the MCU then this would be the best way for his character to go, and to make it even better he could become PP/SM’s new AI. This way Tony could still be a central father figure and mentor to Peter, all while taking a back seat to the future MCU while still being important.

‘In the past movies, there has definitely been a deep connection between the two characters and this happening in the future just really makes sense to me. Just imagine Tony dying at the end of Avengers 4 and then in an end-credits scene we see Peter getting ready to go do Spider-Man stuff and then boom we here Tony’s voice saying “hey kid” and the movie ends.’

Suppose we shall wait for news, but in the meantime think about how this could be moved over to the story of Ironheart.

Robert Downey Jr’s Avengers hero Iron Man memorialised with Italian statue

Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it and in Avengers: Endgame, he sacrificed himself for the greater good.

But his Tony Stark will live on forever, not just in our memories and our DVDs but also as a statue that has been erected in Tuscany, Italy.

Designed and created by artist Daniele Basso as part of a month-long exhibit called Oltre Verso, the statue is part of a 40-piece collection in the town of Forte Dei Marmi.

Basso named the statue – which features Iron Man in his classic three-point landing pose – Man Of Steel, not to be confused with DC Comics hero Superman, who is also known under the same moniker.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B07ztvYCDKZ/

The plaque which runs alongside the statue is in Italian but translated reads: ‘The first monument dedicated to Iron Man in the year of his death in the cinematic world, we celebrate Tony Stark as a man who dedicates his life’s fortunes to fight for the ideals he believes in… reminding us that we are all the protagonists of our time – that the future of humanity depends on our decisions … that all of us must be heroes!’

Taking to Instagram, artist Daniele added: ‘Iron Man is alive and well…and he is in Forte dei Marmi!!

‘Iron Man has a magnetic heart, but I have a sensitive artist’s heart! And the enormous appreciation I am receiving for my sculpture thrills me!

‘Thank you all and remember: the future of humanity depends on our choices…all of us must and can be heroes!’

Endgame is thought to be Downey Jr’s last outing as Iron Man with the MCU moving into phase four which will focus on the new guard of Avengers including Black Panther and Captain Marvel.

However the upcoming launch of new streaming service Disney+ will allow for more Marvel stories to be told, and it has been reported that Downey Jr will return as Tony once more in a voiceover capacity for rumoured new series Ironheart.

Is Robert Downey Jr really coming back to play Marvel’s Iron Man?

RIP…? (Picture: Marvel/Paramount/Kobal/REX/Shutterstock)

After a very tragic turn in Avengers: Endgame, there’s been word that Robert Downey Jr could be returning to the MCU.

In Endgame (spoiler alert) Tony Stark ended up sacrificing his life to defeat Thanos and, honestly, we’re still not over it.

But now word on the street is that our Tony could be making a comeback…

Is Robert Downey Jr really coming back to the MCU?

Marvel sources have claimed that RDJ is preparing to be returning to the Marvel Universe as Tony Stark.

Or rather, as a version of Tony.

The launch of the new streaming service Disney+ will make room for even more Marvel stories to be explored.

According to sources who spoke to We Got This Covered, Marvel wants one of those stories to be that of Riri Williams’ Ironheart.

Williams is a teenage genius who was first introduced in 2016 and who follows in Tony Stark’s footsteps.

According to the publication, Tony will be appearing in the show as an AI – not unlike J.A.R.V.I.S (played by Paul Bettany) – to help train the teen to become a superhero

Ironheart has previously been met with criticism for its allegedly inaccurate portrayal of a typical black female teen and for the lack of black female writers who were on staff writing for the character.

Eve Ewing took the reins in 2018 when Marvel launched a standalone comic for Ironheart.

In mid-2019, Ewing introduced Downey Jr at a gala which led to the actor giving his approval for Ironheart to join the MCU as Iron Man’s replacement.

Could this be an indication that he’s on-board for playing Tony in an Ironheart show?

Hold your horses because Robert Downey Jr might actually be returning as Tony Stark

Although Avengers: Endgame was the highest grossing movie of all time, that didn’t stop it from breaking all our hearts.

There may light at the end of this very miserable tunnel after all, as it has been rumoured that Robert Downey Jr. will be returning as our beloved Tony Stark for the Black Widow movie.

The 54-year-old actor has been playing Tony Stark for well over a decade and when Endgame hit us with that heart wrenching sacrifice to save the universe, we didn’t know what to do with ourselves.

Not only did Robert play Tony Stark, he was the perfect living embodiment of the superhero that left a gigantic void in our hearts.

However, Black Widow is getting her very own solo film (finally) and Deadline claims that Iron Man will be reprising his role for it.

No, he won’t be magically reappearing from the other side as this films takes place after Civil War but before Infinity War.

Continuity wouldn’t be a problem for Black Widow, but when has the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever struggled with continuity?

If not in Black Widow, we may still see Robert Downey Jr. in other Marvel films.

Marvel sources have claimed that RDJ is preparing to return to the Marvel Universe as Tony Stark. Or rather, as a version of Tony. The launch of the new streaming service Disney+ will make room for even more Marvel stories to be explored.

According to sources who spoke to We Got This Covered, Marvel wants one of those stories to be that of Riri Williams’ Ironheart.

According to the publication, Tony will be appearing in the show as an AI – not unlike J.A.R.V.I.S (played by Paul Bettany) – to help train the teen to become a superhero.

Both roles have not been confirmed by Disney themselves, so all we can do in the meantime is sit back and cry until we get to see Robert on our screens one more time.

Theory on how Tony Stark might appear in upcoming Black Widow bound to disappoint fans

Hello Iron Man (Picture: Marvel/Paramount/Kobal/REX/Shutterstock)

After it was suggested earlier this week Tony Stark may make an appearance in the upcoming Black Widow standalone, many a theory has surfaced as to just how it’s all going to come together.

Now with some sleuths at hand, it seems many are wondering whether he’s going to make a comeback in scenes already filmed, rather than shooting a fresh cameo.

If this is all a thing and not just some wild rumours caught alight, we’re still pretty excited to get another showing of the man on our screens after Endgame.

Yes, there may be a light at the end of this very miserable tunnel after all.

The 54-year-old actor has been playing Iron Man for well over a decade and when Endgame hit us with that heart wrenching sacrifice to save the universe, we didn’t know what to do with ourselves.

Not only did Robert play Tony, he was the perfect living embodiment of the superhero that left a gigantic void in our hearts. However, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow is getting her very own solo film (finally) and Deadline claims that Iron Man will be reprising his role for it.

But how?

Well, according to Comicbook.com, they’ve got a theory it’ll all be from a deleted scene that never had a full-on release.

Scarlett Johansson
ScarJo is making a Black Widow comeback (Picture: Getty Images for Disney)

The website stated there was a ‘good chance’ it’ll be down to a ‘deleted scene from the third Captain America movie, one that is not included in the special features but has been screened at multiple public events’.

In this little confrontation, Black Widow and Iron Man have one final meet after his battle with Winter Soldier, echoing their earlier argument when Natasha Romanoff told Tony ‘we played this wrong’.

But, evidently, by not releasing that scene they’ve played it right.

He then tells her to run, which brings her together with the Secret Avengers.

So, yeah, if this is the cameo we’re all thirsting for, sorry if you wanted something a little more fresh.

Still, we’re bound to get our fill of RDJ after Marvel sources also claimed the actor was preparing to return to the Marvel Universe, as a version of Tony with the launch of the new streaming service Disney+.

According to sources who spoke to We Got This Covered, Marvel wants one of those stories to be that of Riri Williams’ Ironheart, with many theorising Tony will make his comeback…somehow.

There’s just so much potential.

Tony Stark needs to rest in peace (Picture: Rex Features)

This may be an unpopular opinion and I should be girding my inbox, but please, for the love of Thor, don’t bring Tony Stark back into the MCU.

He’s dead. Let him rest in peace.

We’ve shed our tears, and we’ve cried our cries at the end of Avengers: Endgame, when Robert Downey Jr and Tony made his final play for the good of the universe.

He snapped that mighty gauntlet and Thanos was dusted and everyone was happy.

Of course we were far from happy when Tony, and along with him, Iron Man, died and Gwyneth Paltrow cried and Tom Holland definitely cried and frankly, you find me someone who wasn’t a blubbering mess in the theatre when Pepper Potts whispered ‘we’re gonna be okay, you can rest now’ and I’ll find you a liar.

But his heroes ending just wasn’t enough for people. They now want more.

And because Marvel and Disney know a brilliant moneymaker when they see it, all the ‘sources’ are talking about is the idea Tones is making his big comeback in the upcoming Black Widow spinoff.

Tony’s story is perfectly fine where it is (Picture: Rex Features)

Starring Scarlett Johansson in the titular role, it’ll focus on her life after the events of Civil War – hence not only why Avenger Natasha Romanoff (AKA BW), but also Tony can return; it’s all in the past.

It’s bad enough Black Widow is coming back despite also biting the dust big time in Endgame (another harrowing scene, no less), but now we might have to contend with the return of two fallen comrades?

You might as well bring back Thanos if deaths in the Marvel Cinematic Universe mean so little to you, fam.

While it’s also been prophesied Tony is making another return to the world of Marvel in an upcoming Disney+ series, already suggested to be an AI in Iron Heart, I just don’t understand why we can’t accept the loss of these characters and move on?

The love for Tony is no joke, there are actual statues erected in his honour.

But why must we always need to bring someone back, even if their ending says they don’t exist anymore?

Since when did Marvel become an episode of Neighbours, where death ACTUALLY means they’re just kicking elsewhere before returning like it was no big thing they were in a car accident and drowned (Dee, we’re looking at you).

I’m not saying I don’t want Tony to return because I don’t like him. Heck, I love the iron fella – he brings a certain spunk and moxie to the franchise none of the other characters can master.

But why must we always need to bring someone back, even if their ending says they don’t exist anymore?

I’m saying we need to learn to let go. Otherwise, every time a massive character carks it, we’re just going to roll our eyes, sigh, take another handful of popcorn and feel nothing knowing they’ll probably get their own spin-off next year.

I know I’m raining on everyone’s parade by poo-pooing a possible return of Tony, but what happens if he does appear and it sucks?

The last memory of Iron Man won’t be of his heroic feat, his wife kissing him on the forehead and the whole team of the Avengers getting down on one knee to salute their fallen leader.

It might be in a throwaway scene that means nothing and, thus, sort of ruins his legacy a little.

Hey, it might be brilliant and the whoops and cheers of the audience will serve to throw pie on my face, but the last thing I want for you, boo, is to be left disappointed by something you once held so dear.

Did Tony Stark know Endgame’s Snap was going to happen way back in 2008’s Iron Man?

Is this explaining how he was able to survive for as long as he did? (Picture: Rex Features)

While Tony Stark was a very smart man, it seems he knew something big was coming the way of the Avengers way, way back.

One fan has unearthed a moment from an old Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) scene in which Iron Man – played by Robert Downey Jr – was talking about his Arc Reactor.

We’re talking way back in the first MCU movie, 2008’s Iron Man.

It seems this little (at the time what we thought was inconsequential) moment in the OG movie explains how Iron Man wasn’t immediately incapacitated by the Snap, after he wielded the Infinity Gauntlet at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Sure he eventually succumbed to the power the Snap created, however being human it’s thought he should have fallen victim to its energy long before he did.

Going back over a decade, speaking to Shaun Toub’s Yinsen about the artificial heart in Iron Man, Stark was told the reactor could ‘run his heart for 50 lifetimes’.

It was here he said: ‘Or something really big for 15 minutes.’

While the Arc reactor ended up living in the suit and was what powered Iron Man, did it help absorb the energy from The Snap? Or are we just getting carried away?

METROGRAB - Avengers fan finds Endgame Tony Stark easter egg from 2008 Iron Man https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/dd4nle/or_something_really_big_for_15_seconds_it_just/?utm_content=media&utm_medium=post_embed&utm_name=a54456a1ae88420c8612117b643f6039&utm_source=embedly&utm_term=dd4nle
What does this mean? (Picture: WolverineKuzuri93/reddit)

Reddit user u/WolverineKuzuri93 made the revelation over the weekend as they shared a screenshot of the moment Stark appeared to foresee his future – or at least the threat of Thanos, perhaps.

‘It just dawned on me how Tony was able to not only wield the stones but also do so without immediately being incapacitated like the Hulk was. His Arc reactor took the bulk of the energy,’ the Redditor wrote.

They were challenged by the Avengers fans, who came up with their own theories as to how Stark kept kicking long enough for Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) to say her goodbye.

One chimed in: ‘I think he lasted a bit longer because the nanoparticles kept on trying to repair the suit and took the main damage until the snap which was too much and eventually got to Tony’s frail human body.’

They might be on the money, but not dispelling this theory altogether – after the Russo Brothers, who directed Infinity War and Endgame, once confirmed Iron Man’s suit’s nanotech and that of the Infinity Gauntlet were one in the same.

Another fan was simply floored by how everything may tie in, despite the decade in between these two films.

‘What’s really amazing about this is how relevant everything from the first marvel movies still is, and how it ties into endgame,’ a commenter wrote.

‘Marvel did an amazing job at bringing everything back around. It’s part of what made these movies so great.’

Sorry Avengers fans but Robert Downey Jr doesn’t want an Oscar nomination for Iron Man

Robert Downey Jr has revealed that he does not want to be put forward for an Oscar nomination for his work on Avengers.

Fans recently launched a petition to push Disney to add the actor to their Oscars consideration list after they noticed he wasn’t put forward for the best actor nomination.

Robert has played Tony Stark since the first Iron Man movie – and the first MCU film at that – in 2008, but he made his last appearance as the beloved superhero in Avengers: Endgame.

However, now the actor has admitted he was the one to speak up and say ‘let’s not’ when it came to the nomination.

‘I’m so glad you brought this up because there was some talk about it, and I said “let’s not”,’ he said on The Howard Stern Show on Monday.

He added: ‘I’ll tell you the truth. I didn’t expect [the Marvel Cinematic Universe] to become what it became, and it is this very large, multiheaded Hydra at this point.’

The petition from fans reads: ‘We, the undersigned, were so moved by Mr. Robert Downey Jr.’s performance as Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame that we believe he is unquestionably deserving of the Academy’s Award for Best Actor.

‘The creative choices he made and immense depth of emotional energy he infused in Tony Stark forged an unforgettable experience for the viewers.’

Disney launched this year’s official For Your Consideration website, which lists the movies from their studio which are being put forward for the Oscars 2020 nominations.

Following their success at the Academy Awards at the last Oscars with Black Panther, Disney are clearly feeling lucky again as they’ve put Avengers: Endgame forward for several categories including best picture, best director for Anthony and Joe Russo, best cinematography for Trent Opaloch, best adapted screenplay for Christopher Markus and best original score for Alan Silvestri.

There’s also: best film editing, best production design, best costume design, best makeup and hairstyling, best sound mixing, best sound editing, and best visual effects.

Avengers: Endgame theory suggests Tony Stark is still alive and we’re not okay

Fans were heartbroken to see him go (Picture: Marvel Studios/Kobal/REX)

Avengers: Endgame theories have been rife since the movie’s release but the Marvel fandom has been left reeling by one which suggests that Tony Stark could still be alive.

Don’t tell us we went through all that pain for nothing.

Fans were absolutely heartbroken when Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) met his tragic end after sacrificing himself to defeat Thanos and most of us were in denial for weeks.

But Reddit user ankitkvishwakarma has taken it to an entirely new level.

‘TONY STARK is backed up in form of an A.I. ! Possible proofs from ENDGAME. Endgame’s scene no one noticed,’ they wrote. Consider us intrigued.

They cite a scene near the end of the movie, which sees a hologram of Tony speak to Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow) and his daughter Morgan (Lexi Rabe) from beyond the grave.

While it’s assumed he recorded the unique message to say goodbye to his family for him in the event of his death, the fan was suspicious about the way the hologram makes eye contact with Morgan, with its eyes darting between his wife and child.

‘How would Tony know that Morgan would be sitting on the Sofa when Pepper and Morgan would be watching the Hologram and also how would he know the location from where the hologram was getting projected?’ they asked.

Avengers theory says Tony Stark is still alive (Picture: Marvel)
The fan referenced the tragic hologram scene (Picture: Marvel)

‘Not just the location but how would a 3D hologram make an eye contact with a human (Morgan). How would Tony know the locations before recording?’

With the fan theorising that a version of Tony’s brain was backed up in his helmet, they went on to point out that it’s entirely possible after an Iron Man AI was introduced in the 2015 Ironheart comic books.

We wouldn’t put it past him TBH.

Despite it being tempting to bring the beloved character back by any means, fans might see this as a bit of a cop-out after such an apt ending for him.

It’s already been claimed that Robert could be set to return to screens as Tony in the Black Widow movie as the film takes place after Civil War but before Infinity War.

Meanwhile, we could actually see the star come back as an AI after sources told We Got This Covered that Marvel is keen to explore the story of Riri Williams’ Ironheart.

So never fear guys, Tony could be back before we know it.

Robert Downey Jr thanks Marvel’s ‘late great Stan Lee’ in People’ Choice Awards acceptance speech

Robert Downey Jr isn’t a man of many words when it comes to awards acceptance speeches, but he made sure to thank the late Stan Lee at the People’s Choice Awards.

The actor, 54, was honoured with the Male Movie Star award at the 2019 People’s Choice Awards on Sunday night for his role in Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame.

He kept his speech short and sweet but made sure to thank the comic book legend who cast him as Tony Stark, otherwise known as Iron Man.

Robert told the crowd: ‘Well look, I just got to come up here and open the show so I’ll just say thank you Disney, thank you Marvel, thank you Russo brothers.

‘And most of all, to the late, great Stan Lee. This is for you, buddy.’

Stan, who had famously made subtle cameo appearances in all of his superhero movies, passed away in November 2018 at the age of 95.

He passed away six weeks before his 96th birthday after being rushed to hospital earlier in the day.

Stan had told fans in February that he had been admitted to hospital for pneumonia, and his cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest with respiratory failure.

Avengers: Endgame saw Iron Man sacrifice himself for the betterment of humanity, and the film ended up becoming the highest grossing film of all time, after taking $2.8 billion (£2.2 billion) at the box office.

As well as a People’s Choice Award, Robert has also been put forward for an Oscar for his role in the movie, according to a list made by Disney Studios Awards.

The Oscars will be taking place on 9 February 2020, though Robert has insisted he doesn’t actually want the award.

He told Howard Stern: ‘I’m so glad you brought this up because there was some talk about it, and I said “let’s not”.

‘I’ll tell you the truth. I didn’t expect [the Marvel Cinematic Universe] to become what it became, and it is this very large, multiheaded Hydra at this point.’

Avengers: Endgame’s deleted Katherine Langford scene shows Tony Stark’s heartbreaking goodbye to daughter

Marvel fans aren’t quite over the heartbreak of Avengers: Endgame and it’s all been made worse by Katherine Langford’s deleted scene.

Seriously, we’re not okay.

The 13 Reasons Why star was set to appear as the grown-up version of Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr) daughter Morgan, who was played by Lexi Rabe in the movie.

Her scene ended up being cut but has now been revealed on Disney+ – and it’s absolutely heartbreaking.

The clip shows Tony encountering the adult version of his daughter, saying: ‘Guess it worked.’

Katherine Langford
Katherine’s scene was cut from the movie (Picture: Getty Images)

Morgan goes on to tell him: ‘Yeah, it worked for me. I got to live, grow up. For you, I can’t answer.’

Then, as if we weren’t sobbing enough, she tells her dad: ‘I love you’, with him (of course) answering: ‘I love you 3000’.

After all we’ve been through, we have to sit and watch this? Not okay.

Explaining the deleted scene, director Joe Russo said: ‘There was an idea that Tony was going to go into the metaphysical way station that Thanos goes in when he snapped his fingers, and there was going to be a future version of his daughter in that way station.’

However, it caused too much confusion with test audiences, with him adding to MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast: ‘The intention was that his future daughter forgave him and gave him peace to go. The idea felt resonant, but it just was too many ideas in an over-complicated movie.’

Anthony Russo added: ‘We didn’t feel an emotional association with the adult version of his daughter. It wasn’t ringing to us. It wasn’t resonating to us on an emotional level is why we moved away from it.’

Tony, who was one of the MCU’s longest running characters, met his tragic end during the final movie of the Infinity Saga.

Sacrificing himself to defeat Thanos, he later appeared as a hologram to his wife Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and young daughter to say his goodbyes.

However, more recently, fan theories speculating that he’s still alive have been rife, with one focusing on the hologram.

Never say never, right?

Wild Avengers theory suggests Tony Stark’s daughter Morgan was a robot all along and we do not love this 3000

Tony Stark's daughter in Endgame is being bullied and Avengers: assemble! Picture: MARVEL METROGRAB ~~low-res (no prod-still available)
A robot? (Picture: MARVEL)

Even though Avengers: Endgame came out in April, fans are still coming up with ideas around the various characters, themes and outcomes.

We just can’t help ourselves, can we?

Now one excited viewer has come up with the now-viral theory Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr) young daughter Morgan (Lexi Rabe) was a robot all along.

We don’t love this theory 3000.

Twitter user @sisabet shared a message she got from her sister, who had some rather interesting thoughts about Tony’s daughter with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow).

‘I totally thought Tony made a robot daughter the whole damn movie,’ a screenshot of the text message read.

‘I thought for sure in the beginning especially because pepper didn’t have anything to do with her.

‘And then when she said I love you 3000, I thought ha ha she’s the ILU 3000 that’s her model. [sic]’

That’s right, she thought 3000 was her make.

Hmmm the jury is out (Picture: MARVEL)

They continued: ‘And when Tony said the captain and Nat, I have to be careful I have a daughter and they look down all sad, I thought they were sad because Tony Stark has lost his goddamn mind and believes his robot daughter is real.’

Sheesh, this is quite the call, right?

While it sounds quite crazy a thought to believe Morgan Stark was a robot, what with her proclivity for a delicious cheeseburgers and what not, other fans are totally feeling the thing now the idea has been introduced.

One fan commented: ‘I totally agree with her. Tony spent 10 years being a selfish tool and suddenly he is Family Man Tony Thoreau? No. Secret armor in the garage and obvious robo daughter. Then they martyr the guy too? The directors are fans of narcissists.’

Another picked up on the Pepper theory, as they added: ‘I thought the relationship of pepper and the daughter was always strange. I just assumed bad acting ha. But it was always like that’s not her real daughter, that’s a child from a previous affair.’

And everyone else was laughing.

Look, it’s hardly the weirdest theory we’ve come across – that award must go to the Ant-Man, Thanos butt theory.
