Stan Lee died on 12 November aged 95.

The Marvel Comics co-creator was rushed to hospital, with daughter, JC, later confirming the heartbreaking news.

She told TMZ: ‘My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man.’

Stan was the man behind some of the biggest superhero characters in the world, helping to bring Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther and so, so many more to life – and later to the big screen.

In doing so, he changed the face of comic books for good – here are some of his best creations.

Comic book genius Lee, the architect of the contemporary comic book, has died. He was 95. The creative dynamo who revolutionized the comics by introducing human frailties in superheroes such as Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four and The Incredible Hulk, was declared dead Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to Kirk Schenck, an attorney for Lee's daughter, J.C. The Hulk: First appearance in The Incredible Hulk – May, 1962

Stan has famously explained the inspiration behind the Hulk was a combination of Frankenstein, Dr Jeykll and Mr Hyde. Speaking in the Origins of Marvel Comics, he explained he also modelled Hulk’s look on The Thing, from Fantastic Four.

‘I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for the Frankenstein monster. No one could ever convince me that he was the bad guy,’ he said. ‘He never wanted to hurt anyone; he merely groped his torturous way through a second life trying to defend himself, trying to come to terms with those who sought to destroy him.

‘I decided I might as well borrow from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as well—our protagonist would constantly change from his normal identity to his superhuman alter ego and back again.’

Iron Man: First appearance in Tales of Suspense – March, 1963

Iron Man is one of the most recognised Marvel creations, with Robert Downey Jr giving the character his own spin on the big screen.

Discussing the ‘businessman superhero’ concept, Stan admitted he ‘gave himself a dare’ when creating the character, back in 1963.

‘It was the height of the Cold War. The readers, the young readers, if there was one thing they hated, it was war, it was the military….So I got a hero who represented that to the hundredth degree,’ he confessed.

‘He was a weapons manufacturer, he was providing weapons for the Army, he was rich, he was an industrialist….I thought it would be fun to take the kind of character that nobody would like, none of our readers would like, and shove him down their throats and make them like him….And he became very popular.’

So popular, in fact, he was given his own title five years later.

Stan changed comic books up with the introduction of Spider-Man, in 1962. Peter Parker was our first teenage superhero, with young characters previously being included as a sidekick.

He was adamant he wanted a superhero youngsters could relate to and identify with, but adding ‘man’ on the end of his name so he could grow as a person and a character.

It seems tapping into the teen market really worked, as Spider-Man became ‘Marvel’s top selling comic book’.

Black Panther: First appearance in Fantastic Four – July, 1966

As well as introducing us to the first teen superhero, Stan also co-created Black Panther – the first black superhero in mainstream comics, back in 1966.

Black Panther, aka T’Challa, had two appearances in the Fantastic Four comics, before later popping up in Captain America, and The Avengers two years later, before eventually being given his own book.

The movie version of the comic book was released earlier this year, and surpassed all expectations, bringing in well over $1billion (£775m) at the box office and becoming the second highest-grossing film of 2018.

Avengers fans are pleading with NASA and Elon Musk to save Tony Stark after grim Endgame trailer

It’s only been a couple days since theAvengers trailer for the next film in the third phase was released, but Endgame doesn’t look good for Tony Stark already.

Now fans of the franchise have voiced their worry for Iron Man going so far as to pester NASA to within an inch of its social media to get up there and rescue the guy.

Because, if you didn’t know, he’s run out of food and water and the oxygen will only last another day.

Yes, it’s a bleak AF work following Thanos’ Snap.

But surely all those NASA funds can be put to good use by getting the International Space Station to just swing by and pick old mate up, right?

tony stark avengers endgame
Tony is not in a good way (Picture: Marvel)

The trailer begins with Tony Stark leaving a message for Pepper Potts, telling her ‘part of the journey is the end’ as he detailed his lack of food and air. Which is handy in living.

And it’s just not flying with fans as they took to Twitter in droves this weekend to annoy the space agency in helping get Tony back down to Earth with his buddies.

Another said: ‘@NASA so y’all just gonna let my boy die like that?!? After all Tony Stark has done for us?!?’

One just got super pleady as they added: ‘@NASA please help Tony stark our iron man from space he ran out of food and oxygen ends up tomorrow morning pls pls pls pls.’

And when people thought NASA weren’t hearing their prayers, they began to message the next best bet.

That’s right, punters enlisted the help of Tesla boss Elon Musk.

We wonder whether Houston has a problem with such a feat, seeing as they’re getting a fresh message every five minutes about saving their boy Stark.

However with the release of the trailer, there was a massive plot hole with Iron Man that had fans wondering what was going on, as the theories sparked up immediately.

Instead of going gooey over the emotional moment, some had more pressing concerns like – how could Tony take his helmet off if his suit is created from Nanotech?

In Infinity War when Tony, Doctor Strange and Wong battled Thanos’ henchmen, Tony managed to suit up all in one smooth action simply by pressing his Arc reactor. Fans wondered how, since he could put on the suit in one movement before, he was able to remove his helmet to send a message back home.

Seems they took a minute off wondering to message NASA. For all our sakes, not just Tony’s, can we please sort this issue out ASAP.

KThanksBye.

NASA responds to Avengers call to rescue stranded Tony Stark

Over the weekend worried Avengers fans took to social media to plead with NASA to save Tony Stark, who is currently stranded in space with little hope of getting his bearings.

You see, after the Endgame trailer hit the airwaves late last week, Iron Man’s fate has been all but revealed in a grim scene.

The trailer begins with Tony leaving a message for Pepper Potts, telling her ‘part of the journey is the end’ as he detailed his lack of food and air. Which is handy in living.

So, naturally, it was up to the space agency to shoot up there, or just swing by in the International Space Station, and give Tony a lift back to earth, right?

It doesn’t look good (Picture: Marvel)

While punters’ pleas went unanswered up to this point, now NASA has responded. But don’t get your hopes up, fam.

In the tongue-in-cheek comment posted to Twitter they asked Marvel to listen out for his beacon call that he ‘had a problem’ (um, already pretty obvious), before doing anything.

However, with his helmet perhaps not strong enough to beam that message back down to earth, NASA suggested the Avengers and teams on the ground mobilise to scan the skies (in all galaxies, we hope) for the wayward astronaut.

They’re surely doing that. What kind of advice is this?!

‘Hey @Marvel, we heard about Tony Stark,’ their message on Twitter began on Sunday night. ‘As we know, the first thing you should do is listen in mission control for “@Avengers, we have a problem.”

‘But if he can’t communicate, then we recommend ground teams use all resources to scan the skies for your missing man.’

Fans felt NASA may be too late though, as they responded to the organisation, who, we must add, are doing absolutely nothing to help.

One wrote: ‘Thank you so much for your suggestion NASA, we will try our best to save Mr.Stark, but right now I’m not sure he’s still alive or not because the oxygen ran out yesterday lol this is hilarious I almost split the Pepsi lol.’

This is no laughing matter.

Others loved NASA seemed to care more about the Avengers’ safety more so than Marvel – even though, again, they basically just asked Marvel to help find the cosmic traveller.

Another added: ‘Omg nasa!!! You do understand how important Tony Stark is!!! This might be the coolest tweet I’ve ever seen!!! Find himmmm. Please!!!’

We still have a while to wait to see how Tony was saved from space (c’mon, don’t kill off Iron Man, that’s not cool). But, the lols are keeping us warm in the meantime.

Avengers: Endgame trailer and leaked set pictures suggests Pepper Potts may rescue Iron Man

Pepper and Tony may not get their happy ever after (Picture: Marvel)

The trailer for Avengers: Endgame finally dropped last week and it opened up even more cans of worms feasting on fan theories.

Opening with Tony Stark, floating in space with no supplies and preparing for his imminent death, and sending a message home to fiancee Pepper Potts it appeared to confirm the rampant idea that Tony will die in the film, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe moves on to a whole new chapter.

‘Hey, Miss Potts. If you find this recording, don’t feel bad about this,’ Tony says during his recording – but one fan theory posits that this message will actually make its way to Pepper where she will be the one to save Tony.

This theory would explain the leaked set picture that showed Pepper in the Rescue armour.

The picture, posted to account Uncanny Comic Quest, showed actress Gwyneth Paltrow in costume only instead of sporting her usual business attire she’s wearing the leather and armoured Rescue range, as she stands in front of a green screen.

In the comic series, Pepper gets an Iron Man suit of her own known as Rescue, and while her role in Infinity War really didn’t amount to much, this is the biggest hint yet she’s going to get in on the action this time around – and what better action than saving the love of her life?

With half the universe obliterated by Thanos’ snap, we really could do with some more action heroes around now, too.

Pepper may step up to become a new superhero (Picture: Marvel)

With the assumed death of Tony as well as Captain America aka Steve Rogers and potentially others as phase three of the MCU comes to a close, it’s not the craziest idea having Pepper suit up to defeat Thanos in the next battle, after Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige claimed that the majority of superheroes in the MCU would soon be female.

‘As the plan goes forward I think frankly we’ll be, you know, eventually I think we’re going to reach a time where it’s not just, listen, it would be amazing to see all of our female characters the way we have see, most, never all male, but primarily male,’ he told CinemaBlend.

‘I think we’re getting to the point soon where we have so many great female characters that those are just our heroes as opposed to when are they all female, all male. It’s just the Marvel heroes, more than half of which will be women.’

Kevin’s words were backed up by the studio in June when they shared a video package which revealed that Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel will be the new face and leader of the franchise; ‘Captain Marvel is about to take the lead in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe,’ the video highlighted.

The video mostly consisted of behind the scenes footage of Brie in character, and is meant to ‘introduce people to Carol Danvers’.

The footage is being kept under wraps but Nikita Byrkin of The Flick shared the logo on social media.

Avengers 4 is in cinemas 26 April 2019.

Avengers theory predicts Endgame will be told from Tony Stark’s point of view

Could Tony make the ultimate sacrifice? (Picture: Marvel)

We still have several months to wait until we catch the deal with the next instalment in the Avengers saga, Endgame. However, one punter has suggested the whole thing will be about Tony Stark.

And we’re not mad.

The trailer was released earlier this month and starts with Iron Man floating about in space, with his water and food gone, and oxygen depleting completely the following day.

So it makes sense, perhaps, that the ensuing battle may see Tones back in the forefront and chasing down the Mad Titan Thanos after he snapped half the planet away.

In a well-supported theory on Reddit, one MCU fan has proffered the idea based on the trailer first of all that Endgame will focus on Stark going back in time to obtain the six Infinity Stones that saw Thanos create the gauntlet to wreak havoc.

User u/Asongofparksandrec said that while Infinity War was Thanos’ movie, this one is all about Tony Stark.

‘The trailer of infinity war was from Thanos perspective. The movie itself was from his perspective. The Endgame trailer is from Tonys perspective. So I figure the movie will be from his perspective,’ they said, on the money so far.

‘Over all of the marvel movies, in one way or the other Tonys character was build up. With each movie he matured. Until his maturity reached its peaked with passing on what he achieved to Peter Parker whom he felt responsible for. Tony was basically a father figure to Peter. Yet Tony failed when Peter died. Same like Thanos felt he failed, when his home planet collapsed.

‘I believe that Endgame will in some way mirror infinity war. [sic]’

They continued with the long-held view that the only way to defeat Thanos is to retrieve all the Infinity Stones and with another snap of the fingers, bring everyone back from the dead – or whatever alternate reality they currently find themselves in.

The Redditor added: ‘Only this time it will be Tony who snaps his finger. How would a mortal be able to do this? With the power of him, who is cursed with knowledge. The knowledge of a mechanic.’

If you remember, Thanos said those fateful words to Iron Man in the last movie, saying he was the ‘only one cursed with knowledge.’

The user added that perhaps he’ll do so with the help of Eitri, played by Peter Dinklage, who made Thor’s axe, who may craft a means of wielding the stones for the latest quest.

To add another layer to this already quite heavily-packed theory, they then suggested the OG Avengers, who survived the Snap will help in their own way – six stones, six Avengers. Makes sense, non?

But it will be Tony who brings them together as the theory continued: ‘It was always Tony who should have held the avengers together, but he never truly achieved this. Only when he convinced them to get shawarma, but almost sacrificing himself. [sic]’

They concluded: ‘I think this movie will be about Tony finally [completing] his maturity. He will reverse his mistakes by bringing the dead to life again and might possibly sacrifice himself for real this time or even emerge to a higher level of existence. Or maybe sacrificing yourself is emerging into a higher form of existence. [sic]’

It’s long been suggested Tony will sacrifice himself and end up perishing in this film.

Most recently, a fan has suggested a scene in Avengers: Age Of Ultron foreshadowed the death of both Captain America and Iron Man, which is fairly heartbreaking.

Redditor u/dafsjgf called back the scene which dropped the Endgame title, and speculated that a conversation between Steve Rogers and Tony spelled bad things for the heroes in Endgame.

Tony said: ‘A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We’re standing 300 feet below it. We’re the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the livelong day but that up there, that’s… That’s the endgame. How were you guys planning on beating that?’

Steve replied: ‘Together’, and when Tony said: ‘We’ll lose’, Cap responded: ‘Then we’ll do that together too.’

Joe Russo has also said Endgame is ‘bringing to a close the first decade of stories’ launched with Iron Man in 2008.

Oh god, there are going to be tears a’plenty in this film. We just know it.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige has added fuel to the rampant speculation that Iron Man will be exiting the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Endgame.

Kevin Feige seemingly confirmed the superhero’s fate to fans who have been very concerned about what would happen to him at the end of the Infinity War sequel.

Robert Downey Jr’s character aka Tony Stark was noticeably absent from the trailer of Spider-Man: Far From Home after having a significant part to play in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

So his absence has left many Marvel fans thinking he will die – or be retired – at the end of Endgame which is set to be released before Far From Home.

In a statement (via IANS), Feige said that Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel will now be the most powerful character in MCU – but wait, isn’t that supposed to be Iron Man?

He said: ‘We thought it was the right time to finally introduce Captain Marvel to the world.

‘She is one of the most popular characters and one of the most powerful characters in the comics and will now be the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.’

Captain Marvel is the MCU’s first stand-alone female franchise, which is set in 1990 and will follow the journey of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel to becoming one the world’s most powerful heroes.

The film stars Oscar-winning Brie Larson as the titular character, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Annette Benin and Jude Law.

Feige said a female superhero was long overdue – and he is right.

He added: ‘We have always had powerful female characters and heroes in our films. But having a female superhero franchise title character for the first time feels overdue, and it’s something that we have been excited about for a long time and we can’t wait to deliver it to the world.’

Avengers Endgame is set to be released on 16 April, Captain Marvel will hit cinemas on 8 March.

Will Iron Man die in Avengers: Endgame? The ultimate roundup of fan theories

Will one be left standing…or none? (Picture: Marvel and Metro edit)

The Avengers: Endgame trailer is one massive tearjerker as it taunts fans with the possible death of Tony Stark while Iron Man floats in space with his oxygen rapidly running out.

Whether or not the Avenger will bite the bullet remains to be seen, but things aren’t made easier with speculation that he will die. Marvel boss Kevin Feige added fuel to fire after he hinted that Stark’s stand in Endgame might well be his last one.

Iron Man is supposed to be the most powerful character in MCU, but Feige said that mantle belongs to Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel.

He said: ‘We thought it was the right time to finally introduce Captain Marvel to the world. ‘She is one of the most popular characters and one of the most powerful characters in the comics and will now be the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.’

With rumours swirling around Avengers: Endgame, which will arrive in cinemas on 25 April, let’s take a look at the most optimistic (and heartbreaking) theories surrounding the fate of our favourite snarky superhero.

Admittedly, there are more theories that Iron Man will die, than those proclaiming he will live…

Tony Stark (and Cap’ America) die, as foreshadowed in Age of Ultron scene

Could Cap and Tony meet their makers in Endgame? (Picture: Rex/Shutterstock)

A Marvel fan has suggested that a scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron actually foreshadows the death of both Captain America and Iron Man. Nooo.

A reddit user speculated that a conversation between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark hints at bad luck for the heroes.

The reddit user has suggested that this is exactly the kind of foreshadowing Marvel is known for, and it could hint their death.

‘These two might die at the end of Avengers: Endgame,’ the Redditor suggested.

Tony Stark dies to reverse the effect of the soul stone and save the world

This might be the standoff everyone is waiting for (Picture: Marvel)

In another Reddit fan theory, it is suggested that Tony Stark and Ant Man will team up and use BARF (Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing) a device he designed, to create a scenario to stop Thanos. They will do this by manipulating his mind and sparking the idea of having him undo the scarifying of Gamora.

They will contact Nebula via Scott’s Time Vortex and the Quantum Tunnel, and they will ‘construct a scenario to make Thanos feel remorse’ about Gamora.

BARF will undo what Thanos has done, Nebula gains control of the soul stone and goes on a rampage, and this will cause Tony and the Cap to make a sacrifice in order to gain control of the stone and save the world.

They die, yet again.

Tony Stark dies/gets trapped in the soul stone, which is why Peter Parker leaves his Spidey suit at home when he travels to Europe on a school trip

Tony and Peter had a special connection (Picture: Marvel Studios)

A fan posits that a scene in the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer hints at the death or loss of Tony Stark in Endgame.

‘Pack your suit,’ Aunt May tells Peter as he readies for a school trip to Europe.

‘I just wanna go on my trip with my friends. Europe doesn’t really need a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man,’ he said, whilst glaring at his suit.

Posting on Reddit’s Fan Theories subreddit, user u/FurysDyre argues that the reason Peter isn’t taking his suit with him is he’s traumatised by the loss of his mentor, who told him to live his life.

The user suggests that Tony might not be fully killed, but is trapped in the Soul Stone, meaning Tony and Peter never really got a chance to say goodbye, further adding to the theory that Spider-Man is so sad he doesn’t want to be a superhero anymore.

Tony Stark and Thanos’ fates are connected thanks to the Mind Stone

Picture: Marvel Chris Hemsworth tells Thanos to piss off in Marvel reunion?
Will the Infinity Gauntley be destroyed? (Picture: Marvel)

A particularly clever fan theory over on Reddit suggests Thanos and Tony Stark are connected by their interaction with the mind stone – which is actually at the root of all problems.

They wrote: ‘We know that in response to Tony asking “how do you know my name?” Thanos replies “I know your soul…it is much like mine, cursed with knowledge”. Great line, but I don’t think Thanos and Tony are necessarily “cursed with knowledge” per se; rather, I think that they are both suffering from some intense PTSD inflicted by the mind stone.’

The fan goes on to suggest that there is a connection between Tony and Thanos, and how that will manifest remains to be seen – but it can’t be good.

The mind stone showed Tony a vision of dead avengers and an alien invasion (which led to Ultron) and it stands to reason that the stone probably showed Thanos a similar vision of his home planet being destroyed (which led to him embarking on the whole Infinity-Gauntlet-snap-half-the-universe-out-of-existence-journey).

The fan added: ‘Both Tony and Thanos would become self-fulfilling prophesies of their worst fears – Tony’s obsession with protection of Earth could have very easily resulted in the total extinction of the human race; Thanos obsession with ensuring that what happened (or what he saw happen) on Titan would never happen again, ultimately led him to murder trillions during the snappening.

‘Both would, through their actions or creations, become the personification of the mind stone (according to Thor, at least): a whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life. Where the mind stone goes, death and destruction follow.’

Sounds ominous.

Tony Stark will be saved by his wifey-to-be, Pepper Potts

Pepper Potts needs to make her superhero debut – will Endgame be it? (Picture: Marvel)

An optimistic fan theory suggests Tony will be saved by Pepper Potts. The opening of the trailer sees Iron Man floating in space with no supplies and on the brink of death. He sends a message to his fiancée Pepper Potts, starting, ‘Hey, Miss Potts. If you find this recording, don’t feel bad about this.’ ‘This’ being dying in space.

However, one fan theory states that the message will make its way to Earth, where Pepper will receive it and save him.

This would explain a leaked set picture which showed Pepper in rescue armour.

Tony Stark survives because Marvel set it up as the most fitting conclusion to his story

Tony Stark and Pepper Potts
Pepper and Tony are believed to go on to have a child so please can this be the ending (Picture: Marvel)

Marvel is good at two things: Misdirection and giving characters poetic arcs. We see this time and again in their motivations, in how they face challenges, and their conclusions. Think Loki, Odin, Nebula…their endings were poetic and held an air of justice. Their end was fitting.

A fan theory suggests that killing Tony Stark would contradict Marvel’s propensity for giving characters fitting conclusions.

Lots of theories suggests Tony will meet his end by sacrifice – except he’s already tried that in both The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Reddit user StrikeFirst wrote: ‘Everything that has happened to Tony after A1 has been based around the idea of him knowing something big was coming to earth and him having anxiety about it. If he were to die or sacrifice himself again I don’t think it’s a good character ending for him since he has been battling Thanos in his head for 6 years (He mentions this on Maw’s ship).

‘Having him win (not die) and finally overcome what he has been battling with since A1 and then retire would and should be the proper ending to the character. All he ever wanted was to end the fight so he can go home.’

We like this theory. More of this theory please.

Avengers theory suggests Endgame plot is in Infinity War trailer as MCU drops new teaser

One Avengers fan has come up with the theory that perhaps we know what’s going to happen in Endgame – because it was all laid out in Infinity War.

According to one keen Redditor who has a lot of time on their hands, it’s been suggested the next instalment in the MCU has already been described way back when the trailer for Infinity War was released back in 2017.

Big call! And to think this comes hot on the heels of the latest trailer drop from Marvel, eh?

Anyway, supposedly by rewatching the Infinity War trailer, we’re given a ‘whole new perspective’ on what’s going down in the April release, as ‘everything that occurs in the first minute of the trailer remains the same between both movies’.

Hmm we’re listening – please continue Reddit user u/BigMartin58.

Avengers Infinity war trailer
So Hulk was in the trailer, but not in the movie. Right? (Picture: Marvel)

‘The first change that occurs is Tony Stark at exactly 1 minute in. In Infinity War, his suit was being put on, but in the trailer, he is wearing regular clothes. Perhaps, in End Game, he decides not to fight in this scene,’ they proferred at the beginning of their hypotheses.

‘The second change occurs at a minute and 20 seconds, during the scene with Cap. In Infinity War, he was much more visible. He was more in the light, but in the trailer, he is more hidden. Hiding in the darkness.’

Side note: this perhaps links in with the idea there are ‘two Caps’ in the trailers, don’t you think? You know, should your thinking be that way inclined.

But old mate Reddit wasn’t done, as they continued: ‘Perhaps, in End Game, he decides to stay hidden longer, instead of fighting right away, until he is found, but the difference could be all it takes.’

With the proposed third change, it turns to Thanos ‘who put the blue Space Stone in the infinity gauntlet’. You see, in Infinity War, he already had the power stone, then attained the space stone and this fan believes perhaps the avengers will prevent the Mad Titan ‘from attaining the power Stone, prior to the events of Infinity War’ in Endgame.

And the trailer has said so.

With missing stones in the trailer, the viewer believes the whole time travel theory thing means he won’t attain all the gems he needed to initially Snap away half the population. Then, finally, Hulk comes into play as in the trailer he’s running with the crew – but not in the movie. Are these altered scenes what we’ll see in Endgame?

Like, what does this all mean, Basil?

It caused quite a stir in the comments section, as you can imagine, as punters shared their two bob on the spicy theory.

‘Oh, Tony will fight in that scene in Endgame, but they can’t show him at all, because he will be wearing the Stark Gauntlet suit, which is why he had to survive,’ one enthusiastic fan suggested, as they launched into some other theories. ‘Antman is the one who will discover time travel through the Quantum Realm, and Future Tony will go time traveling to collect the stones, but so will Cap…’

Another was a little more cynical as they added: ‘So it sounds like we will be rewatching infinity war with an alternate ending.’

Many were fans of the theory, as they figured the sequel would be similar.

‘Watching it back is chilling. It almost narrates what happened!’, a Marvel aficionado said excitedly, as others supported the ‘cool’ notion.

With a fresh trailer dropping during tonight’s Super Bowl, we might get more of an idea of WTF is going down in Avengers town tonight after a good night’s rest.

Robert Downey Jr. has been sighted enjoying being a big kid at Disneyland in the US with his family.

While Marvel fans pace up and down worrying about the fate of RDJ’s character in the Infinity War sequel, the actor seemingly had no care in the world.

Wearing bright yellow trousers and a fisherman’s hat, the 53-year-old was joined by his family including his two young children, as the walked around the happiest place on earth.

The Sherlock Holmes actor and his loved ones were seen living their best lives eating lunch at the Blue Bayou eatery before heading to the Disney Suite for dessert.

Robert seemed really into it – even more than the kids – as he sat on the floor, crossed-legged like a primary school kid, taking pictures on his phone.

We are happy he is enjoying some downtime with his favourite fictional characters …  but we all really have just one question for him – and it has nothing to do with those bright trousers.

Does Iron Man die in the next Avengers film? Seriously, we just need someone to tell us it is not so.

His trip comes not long after Marvel boss Kevin Feige added fuel to the rampant speculation that Iron Man will be exiting the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the next movie.

Kevin Feige seemingly confirmed the superhero’s fate to fans who have been very concerned about what would happen to him at the end of Endgame.

RDJ’s Tony Stark/Iron Man was noticeably absent from the trailer of Spider-Man: Far From Home after having a significant part to play in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t want to be in Marvel films anymore because she thinks she’s ‘too old’

Gwyneth Paltrow is hanging up her boots when it comes to Marvel and that means we may no longer see her as Pepper Potts.

The 46-year-old has played Potts, Tony Stark’s long-time love, in all the Iron Man and Avengers movies since 2008, but it sounds like this time could be her last.

Pepper is set to return in Avengers: Endgame, but Gwyneth has hinted it could be her final appearance in the Marvel universe, as she thinks she’s now ‘too old’ to be channelling her inner superhero.

She told Variety: ‘I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point.

‘I feel very lucky that I did [Iron Man], because I actually got talked into it. I was friends with Jon Favreau [Iron Man’s director].

‘It was such a wonderful experience making the first Iron Man and then to watch how important it has become to the fans.’

Fans saw Pepper gain some form of powers at the end of Iron Man 3, after being infected with the Extremis virus, and she displayed her new abilities when she swooped in to save Stark.

Set to go out with a bang, Gwyneth teased that Pepper may get her very own Iron Man inspired suit in the final Avengers installment, as she teased behind-the-scene snaps of her in a motion-capture suit while shooting for Avengers: Endgame back in 2017.

Now that, we would love to see.

In the same interview with Variety, Gwyneth also discussed her ‘terrible break up’ from Brad Pitt back in the 90s and how it almost cost her her role in 1998 movie Shakespeare In Love.

She explained how she couldn’t contemplate working on something new while dealing with the split, but eventually decided to take it on after reading the script.

Gwyneth is now married to Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk. They tied the knot at her Hamptons home in September last year after announcing their engagement in November 2017.

Paltrow was previously married to Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who she shares two children Apple, 14, and Moses,12, with.

They famously ‘consciously uncoupled’ in 2016 after over a decade of marriage.

When will Avengers 4 be released and who is joining the cast?

When does Avengers 4 come out?
Just when do we get to find out how it all ends? (Pictures: Marvel)

Captain Marvel isn’t the only film Marvel fans have to look forward to in 2019 – Avengers 4 is also coming.

But, surprise surprise, Marvel isn’t giving too much away just yet.

It’s the dramatic climax for Marvel Studio’s decade-spanning story arc and speculation over what will happen in it will be ongoing until 2019.

So, without further ado, here’s everything we know so far…

When is Avengers 4 released?

Avengers 4 is slated to hit cinema screens on 26 April 2019 in the UK and 3 May 2019 in the US.

What will it be called?

Well, isn’t that the age-old question?

So far it is being known as the ‘Untitled Avengers Movie’, with Marvel yet to go on record with the Avengers: Infinity War spin-off’s name.

However, in June this year it was rumoured that it will be called Avengers: End Game after the film’s cinematograher Trent Opaloch appeared to let the cat out of the bag.

Infinity War has been chopped in two, so it’s just the other half of that, right?

WRONG! So, so, so wrong.

When it was first revealed that the Thanos/Infinity Gauntlet story would span two films this was the first reaction. People bemoaning that it was a Peter Jackson The Hobbit style cop-out.

And while the films were shot back-to-back the Russo brothers (co-directors Anthony and Joe) have been at pains to explain that it is a continuation of the story, as opposed to just the other half.

‘It was important for us, because we wanted, the experience we wanted to have at the end of this story was the sense of emotional completion. In terms of what the narrative was in the film,’ Anthony Russo told ComicBook.com.

‘And hopefully they’ll have that similar feeling…It’s serialised story-telling. The mission was to not make one long movie and get out the scissors and cut it in half. Because that’s never been the most fulfilling cinematic expression. So for us, the commitment was to try and put a beginning, middle, and end to this, and a beginning, middle, and end to that.’

There’s obviously an overall arc involving the Avengers and Thanos, but when and where the film picks up the action after Infinity War is anyone’s guess (Picture: Marvel)

So where does the story start in relation to the events in Infinity War?

There’s obviously an overall arc involving the Avengers and Thanos, but when and where the film picks up the action after Infinity War is anyone’s guess.

Speaking to us earlier this month in London Joe Russo teased where we can expect the story to go, and yes that means more ‘heartbreak’ for Marvel fans.

‘This is it,’ he explained. ‘Thanos is an unstoppable villain he’s virtually invincible, he’s highly intelligent – genius level intelligent – he’s like the Genghis Khan of the universe, and to stop him it’s going to cost them a lot. ‘They’re going to have to see if they’re willing to pay that price, and that’s what these movies are really about.’

Talking about a comment the brothers made about fans needing to prepare for a scare in the next instalment, he explained: ‘What we meant by that is to be prepared. What we want is for the audience to be prepared, as there’s a lot of surprises – there’s going to be a lot of humour and a lot of heartbreak.’

Who will be in the film?

While the cast details are still to be confirmed, according to the movie’s IMDB page, the following will all be starring in the sure-to-be epic movie:

Evangeline Lilly – Hope van Dyne / The Wasp
Karen Gillan – Nebula
Brie Larson – Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel
Josh Brolin – Thanos
Chris Hemsworth – Thor
Robert Downey Jr – Tony Stark / Iron Man
Scarlett Johansson – Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow
Chris Evans – Steve Rogers / Captain America
Jeremy Renner – Clint Barton / Hawkeye
Paul Rudd – Scott Lang / Ant-Man
Sebastian Stan – Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier
Michelle Pfeiffer – Janet Van Dyne
Dave Bautista – Drax
Mark Ruffalo – Bruce Banner / Hulk
Chadwick Boseman – T’Challa / Black Panther

If you are struggling to contain your excitement – and impatience – at waiting for Avengers 4, here’s all you need to know about the impending DVD release of Avengers: Infinity War.

Terrence Howard makes up with Robert Downey Jr but says ‘f**k ‘em’ to Iron Man or Avengers

Terrence Howard will not be rejoining the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon.

Marvel fans have long wondered whether Terrence, 49, would reprise his role as Rhodes in Iron Man or even join the ever-growing ensemble cast of the Avengers franchise.

Sadly, the Empire actor has splashed cold water on any hopes of his appearance in forthcoming installments of the blockbuster movies.

A fan called into Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live on Thursday and asked if there was any chance Terrence would agree to join Iron Man or Avengers now that he ‘seems cool’ with Robert Downey Jr after their epic falling out.

Terrence was infamously replaced by actor Don Cheadle for Iron Man 2 and 3 in the midst of his feud with RDJ.

Not one to mince his words, Terrence responded to the fan: ‘You know what’s so funny? Even though I love Don Cheadle so much and I love what he’s done, I still hear a lot of fans asking, “Am I going to come back and be War Machine? Am I going to come back and be War Machine?”

Terrence added: ‘I think they could have a huge franchise off of it. But fuck ‘em.’

Yikes.

Impressed by his honesty, supermodel Elle Macpherson, who also featured in the episode, chimed in: ‘Say it how it is.’

RDJ went on to star in the Avengers franchise but Terrence says no thanks (Picture: Marvel)

In 2013, Terrence shed light on his rivalry with Robert, 53, and accused Hollywood’s best-paid actor of ‘taking money’ that he should have received for playing Rhodes.

Coincidentally, Terrence told Andy Cohen five years ago: ‘It turns out that the person that I helped become Iron Man, when it was time to […] re-up for the second one took the money that was supposed to go to me and pushed me out.

‘They came to me [for] the second and said, “We will pay you one-eighth of what we contractually had for you, because we think the second one will be successful with or without you”. And I called my friend that I helped get the first job, and he didn’t call me back for three months.’

Terrence’s fortune did turn around a few years later when he landed the lead role in Fox’s hit series, Empire.

In the lead role of Iron Man, RDJ has gone on to star in several Avengers movies, including the most recent Infinity War earlier this year.

Explaining why they buried their hatchet, Terrence said in 2017: ‘We just realised that life is too short. We both realised. Life’s too short. Everybody is making money now.’

Avengers 4 theory suggests Tony Stark and Steve Rogers will reunite only in flashback

We haven’t seen these two together since Civil War (Picture: Marvel 2016)

While we eagerly await ANY information pertaining to the next Avengers, not out for another million years, punters have been forming their own theories du jour.

And us eager beavers have been keen to gobble up any ideas as to how the next instalment might begin, as we wrap up the latest phase in this MCU saga after the end of Infinity War saw us clutching all we hold close as Thanos’ evil Snap obliterated 50% of our love.

Now, one man in the know – whose on-point theories have often come to fruition in the past – thinks he knows what will go on in the opening scenes of Avengers 4…well, at least when it comes to Tony Stark and Steve Rogers.

Oh Cap… (Picture: Rex Features)

Fans have been wishing for a delightful reunion between the two, who didn’t fear spilling some bad blood way back in Civil War. Two years later, we were denied the blessed bringing together of two fan-favourites, after an Infinity War reunion was scrapped.

Now, MCU Cosmic’s Jeremy Conrad, who has been an oracle for many an MCU pundit, has shared his own thoughts on the time travel theory, which we’ve already covered, supporting the notion we’ll pick up not straight after the Snap, but rather in the future when the dust has settled.

‘Will there be a time jump in Avengers 4? Most likely yes,’ he wrote on Twitter on Monday.

However, more importantly, he felt we would only see our two Avengers reunite in a flashback and not in some moving scene at the beginning of the flick: ‘Will we not see Tony and Steve reunite? If it happens it’ll be a flashback as someone has to explain to Scott Lang what happened while he was stuck in the Quantum Realm.’

He added he covered it all on his podcast, before a barrage of replies came in asking for him to further clarify on what he meant by Iron Man and Cap reuniting only in flashback.

To be honest, he has to be on the money when it comes to Scott Lang, AKA Ant-Man. The poor sod has been getting about in the QR with no real idea what the eff is going on outside.

One perplexed fan asked: ‘So steve tony won’t see each other in present time? I don’t understand [sic].’

Jeremy replied: ‘They will. People want to see them reunite immediately after The Snap and go off and defeat Thanos minutes after he killed trillions. It completely lessons the impact if they do it that way.’

It might ‘lessen’ the effect, sure, but our hearts are on the line, here, mate!

You sort of forget about Ant-Man being stuck in the Quantum Realm and how it will all tie in with Avengers 4. As while Scott (played by Paul Rudd) wasn’t in Infinity War, he’s already been revealed as a part of the yet-to-be-titled next movie.

It’s highly unlikely the Russo brothers will have the man floating around in limbo for the coming instalment and as Jeremy hinted, someone has to get him out and tell him all about what’s gone down.

Personally we think BOTH Cap and Tones are up for the challenge, together, but hey…that’s none of our business.

Leaked Avengers 4 behind the scenes finally shows Pepper Potts in Rescue armour

Pepper suits up!

Still months out from any real Avengers news in the lead-up for the fourth instalment, new pictures have emerged of Gwyneth Paltrow in costume.

Pepper Potts has remained relatively quiet on the Avengers front, not being part of any great big chatter or leak.

Until now.

As the costumes of characters are designed, tested, tried on, a photo of Gwyn as PP has emerged on social media and there is a lot to unpack here as it looks like the CEO of Start Industries will surface as Rescue in Avengers 4.

A photo has been posted to account Uncanny Comic Quest that shows a recently-married Gwyneth in costume as Pepper, only she’s not sporting her usual business attire – she’s wearing the leather and armoured Rescue range, as she stands in front of a green screen.

Instagram Photo

In the comic series, Pepper gets an Iron Man suit of her own known as Rescue, and while her role in Infinity War really didn’t amount to much, this is the biggest hint yet she’s going to get in on the action this time around.

With half the universe obliterated by Thanos’ snap, we really could do with some more action heroes around now, too.

Recent leaks showed toy designs with a purple armour that was pretty similar to Iron Man’s but for a female.

Cue Pepper Potts, recently engaged to Tony Stark, too – is she out to avenge his honour should he come into any danger in the next movie?

While we don’t know where the image originally came from and it hasn’t been confirmed as her legit costume by Marvel – it doesn’t appear to be doctored or fake and we have seen some random leaks of both Captain America and Captain Marvel’s outfits for the coming release. So it wouldn’t be weird for images of Pep to be floating about.

It’s also not the craziest idea, having Pepper suit up to defeat Thanos in the next battle, after Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige claimed that the majority of superheroes in the MCU would soon be female.

Who run the world? Girls.

‘As the plan goes forward I think frankly we’ll be … you know, eventually I think we’re going to reach a time where it’s not just … listen, it would be amazing to see all of our female characters the way we have seen … most, never all male, but primarily male,’ he told CinemaBlend. ‘I think we’re getting to the point soon where we have so many great female characters that those are just our heroes as opposed to when are they all female, all male. It’s just the Marvel heroes, more than half of which will be women.’

While it was a little rambly, sure, it’s a great step and Pepper’s potential costume for the next film only gets us even more amped for a little MCU shakeup.

Avengers theory suggests Nick Fury knew about Thanos’ snap way back in Captain Marvel-era

We hope Nick Fury has some tricks up his sleeve (Picture: Rex Features)

One particular Avengers theory has hit the internet recently and it suggests Nick Fury, agent at spy organisation S.H.I.E.L.D, has known about everything that’s gone down throughout the whole MCU series thus far.

The Snap, Thanos’ arrival, the death of Tony Stark’s parents – the lot.

One Redditor has come up with the grand and incredibly deep theory that Nick in the 90s-based Captain Marvel will be told about the events of Infinity War – and more likely the happenings of other MCU films before they come to fruition – and will use his knowledge help Dr Strange save everyone who was obliterated at the end of the last Avengers flick.

That’s in its nutshell. Shall we dive deeper?

After the fateful snap wiped out half the population and left the remaining dear Avengers in shock, we’ll travel back to the 90s for Captain Marvel where Fury may begin to gather the intel he needs to save the universe via time travel when we revisit Avengers next year.

Russo Brothers wrap on Avengers 4
How can Dr Strange solve the issue of everyone being dead? (Picture: REX/Shutterstock)

In further detail, user sfmarch07 said: ‘I believe Nick Fury in the 90’s in the Captain Marvel movie will be shown or made aware of the future and future events, potentially even by Dr. Strange coming back in time from Infinity War, and he will be shown specific things that he and other characters have to do throughout the entire MCU to ultimately set up future events for how they need to be in order for the Avengers to win in Avengers 4, per Dr. Strange’s end game plan from the possible 1 out of 14 million outcomes. Meaning everything that has happened in MCU so far had to happen the way it did but more importantly was set up in certain cases to happen the way it did partly by Fury himself.’

Side note: remember at the end of Infinity War, right as he was pulverized, Nick was sending a message on a fancy pager – believed to be to Captain Marvel…

Borrowing many elements from past theories about time travel, the Infinity Stones and The Snap, the Redditor continued along a different vein as they then incorporated a Tony Stark theory suggesting Iron Man had to travel back in time and order the hit on his parents, Howard and Maria, to secure the Soul Stone and help defeat Thanos.

Big call, but he seemed to have the insight to back it up…in theory – but his main idea supports the notion Tony was the creator of his own origin story.

‘I think in A4 the Avengers will try and retrieve the stones from different points in time as has also been heavily speculated. In order to retrieve the soul stone though, Tony is going to have to sacrifice something, the same way Thanos had to sacrifice Gamora,’ they began.

Did Tony Stark create his own story? (Picture: Marvel)

‘But instead of sacrificing Pepper Potts, what if Tony instead has to go back in time to 1991 and infiltrate Hydra or seek out the Winter Soldier, and order the hit on his parents himself, sacrificing the thing he loves most, to enable him to get the Soul stone to fight against Thanos, knowing all the while what it will cause in the future and all the anguish it will personally cause him along with the events of Civil War, breaking up the Avengers, and everything that happens after that.’

They continued: ‘I don’t think its a coincidence either that Captain Marvel takes place in 1990 and Tony’s parents are killed in 1991.’

In doing this, they said a ‘time loop’ or ‘bootstrap paradox’ could have then been created, which means the original time line couldn’t have taken place without the time travel we might be seeing in the next instalment.

This also, according to the theory, ‘could ultimately be a big part of Dr Strange’s end game plan to ultimately defeat Thanos and undo the snap, just like he did against Dormammu’.

Sheesh there’s a lot to unpack there, but fans of the series were behind the theory as they took to the comments section and added their own thoughts.

‘Damn dude, that made me sit up in my chair. idk if this will happen but its certainly a fascinating concept. props to you for thinking this all up,’ one said. ‘Also fury knowing the future would help to explain a lot of his actions, which you addressed. i like that part, even if some of the rest of it might not happen, i think that’s probably true [sic].’

Another said: ‘This is really good. Even if some of the specific points don’t become canon, your idea that things were set up at various points especially by Nick Fury is pretty solid.’

One added: ‘I have to agree, Stark ordering the hit on his parents might be the best theory/ plot line I’ve heard through all of this post infinity war discussion. If that isn’t a plot point .. it needs to be.’

Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Only 6 months to go.

Avengers 4 theory predicts Katherine Langford will play Tony Stark and Pepper Potts’ daughter

Ever since Katherine Langford was announced as part of the cast for Avengers 4, we’ve been wondering just who she could be playing.

And a new rumour has us even more excited.

A new report claims that the 13 Reasons Why actress could be playing the grown-up daughter of Tony Stark and Pepper Potts.

Here. For. It.

Following the casting announcement, Marvel fans speculated whether Katherine, 22, could be playing one of the Young Avengers – perhaps Kate Bishop/Hawkeye or Cassie Lang – Sersi, or even Death.

Pepper and Tony are believed to go on to have a child (Picture: Marvel)

But according to a ‘reliable source’ speaking to MCU Cosmic, Katherine could play the offspring of Iron Man and Pepper in a flash-forward scene.

Back in May, Gwyneth Paltrow spoke about her character Pepper’s future with Tony, telling Official Avengers: Infinity War magazine: ‘Pepper and Tony have had a really long journey together. She obviously starts as his dutiful assistant, and then the relationship evolves, and now this decade later they’re married, and they have a child.

‘Their relationship has evolved in all of the ways that great romances evolve.’

As Avengers 4 is rumoured to begin five years after the events of Infinity War, 22-year-old Katherine would be a bit old to play that child.

But a theory predicts that Tony could see his grown-up daughter in a flash-forward – and be forced to sacrifice her to reverse the Thanos snap.

Pretty gutting, right?

Of course, we won’t know who Katherine plays until we actually see the film next year – unless she pops up in the trailer, which is expected to drop before the year is out.

While half of the MCU was wiped out in the Thanos snap, we are expecting all our favourite heroes – even the ones who were turned to dust – back for the fourth installment of the franchise.

And one character will be coming back from the dead after Frank Grillo confirmed Crossbones will feature in flashback scenes.
